Govt gives jobs to kin of militancy-related victims

Srinagar, November 22: Jammu and Kashmir Government today handed over appointment orders to 125 persons in Kupwara district, who are kin of militancy-related victims, an official spokesman said.

Irrigation Minister Taj Mohiuddin and State Tourism Minister Nasir Aslam Wani handed over the appointment letters to the relatives of militancy victims at a function in the North Kashmir town.

Cheques worth Rs 4 lakh each, in lieu of government jobs, were distributed among 20 persons who were also kin of victims of militancy, the spokesman said.

Addressing the gathering, Mohiuddin, said the government was taking steps to hone the skills of youth to increase their job opportunities in the private sector.

The recruitment has been fast-tracked in government sector through agencies like Public Service Commission and state service selection recruitment board, he said.
