Govt. gives green signal to construction of Gandhamguda masjid

Hyderabad: Gandhamguda, of Peerancheruvu, Gandipet Mandal Hyderabad, Telangana,
has the population of 5000 to 6000 individuals of them over 1000 are Muslims. Gandhamguda has over 400 Muslim houses.

Gandhamguda Muslim Welfare Association had begun struggle for construction of a masjid in the area 3 to 4 years ago. Local Sarpanch Maalti Nagraj supported construction of masjid for Muslims but there were several hurdles on the issue from Waqf Board.

On the direction of Siasat editor Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, President Deccan Waqf Protection Society, Mr. Osman bin Mohammed Al-Hajri along with his friend made representation with the State Waqf Board and Secretary Minority Welfare Department, Mr. Omer Jaleel and told that due to absence of a masjid in the area, local Muslims have to go to far off place to offer prayer. Former CPI MP Aziz Pasha also invited attention towards the matter.

Hence Chief Executive Officer Telangana State Board issued proceeding for construction of masjid in which he informed about the permission to construct masjid on 400 sqyds at Gandhamguda located in survey no 81.
