Govt. getting ready to end donation culture in private schools

Hyderabad: In order to curb donation culture in private schools, Govt. fixed Rs. 5000 as the ceiling of admission fees. Private managements of the schools have been issued clear instructions not to charge more fees. They have been charging Rs. 10000 to Re. 1 lakh from each student. It is reported that private professional colleges have been collecting huge amounts from the students without issuing any receipt. In this manner, this has resulted in payment of huge amounts by poor parents. The private managements justify collection of donation under the pretext of lack of building and other facilities. They have also been saying that Govt. have no control over them.

Against donation culture, many parents have approached the Dept. of Education. The official of the Dept. advised the parents to make a complaint to the District Educational Officer if any management collects more than Rs. 5000
