Hyderabad, February 19: CPI MP Syed Aziz Pasha during a press conference held at Makhdoom Bhawan said that an important meeting of Central Hajj committee, civil aviation and other officials of central government was conducted by parliamentary committee. The meeting reviewed arrangement of Hajj 2011.
Lamenting upon the incidents faced by Hajj pilgrims last year he said the central and state governments have totally failed in providing adequate facilities to the Hajj pilgrims.
Aziz Pasha said that the flight fare from Hyderabad to Jeddah is four times higher than that of London to Jeddah while the distance between Hyderabad to Jeddah is three times lesser than that of London to Jeddah. Inspite of that increase in fare is a matter of concern.
He said that previously external affairs ministry used to issue temporary passports for the convenience of Hajj pilgrims but provision of temporary passports have been cancelled in the last year as a result aspirants are facing lot of difficulties.
Mr. Aziz Pasha said that representation has been made by Communist Party of India in this regard and facilities are sought for the aspirants particularly aspirants of Andhra Pradesh state.
