Hyderabad, August 05: The members of Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors’ Association have decided to go on indefinite strike in all the teaching hospitals “except emergencies” from August 9 as per the call given by the Association.
In a press note here today, the APGDA president, Dr Putta Srinivas, and the secretary general, Dr K Ramesh Reddy, stated that as per the agitation programme announced by the Association to achieve their long-pending demands, it was decided to boycott all the examinations along with boycotting the undergraduate and post graduate classes, invigilation work and other Dr NTR University related works from August 1.
Stating that they have come to know that State forensic doctors had decided to refuse performing autopsies from August 5, the APGDA leaders stated that any press statements or agitation schedules announced by the unrecognized associations are no way concerned to the Association and it does not take any responsibility to such invalid statements. “This type of statements were being made with ulterior and malafide intentions to spoil the cordial atmosphere and relations between the State government and the APGDA”, they added.
