Govt. of Telangana has decided to formulate special stamps act. It will array with the states of Maharastra, Gujarat and Karnataka for this purpose. It is reported that in Telangana State, Govt. of India stamps act of 1899 is in vogue which contains the clauses of seaports. Since there is no seaport in Telangana State, there is a need to amend this act. It is said that this act is 100 years old. Govt. has constituted a subcommittee with IG of registration and stamps, DIGs of Kareem Nagar, Hyderbad and Ranga Reddy Districts. It is expected that after drafting the act, it will be thrown open to the public for comments.
