Govt To Continue Existing Fee Reimbursement: Botcha

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said that the State government would continue the existing system of fees reimbursement.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Botcha said that change in the reimbursement system was proposed because of a judgment by the Supreme Court. He made it clear that the State government had no intention of depriving the poor students of the opportunity to pursue higher education. He said that 135 colleges had raised objections over the uniform fee structure. He said now the fee reimbursement would be applicable to all the families with income less than Rs 1 lakh an year.

Botcha also thanked Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi for restoring gas supply to the State. Replying to a question, he said that he would consider only those with loyalty to Sonia Gandhi and acceptance of the party policies as Congress workers.
