Govt. to concentrate on Housing & Minorities in next budget

AP Legislative Assembly has already started preparations for the budget session to be held in February. It is expected that the budget is likely to increase when compared to this year’s budget.

According to official sources that under the Chairmanship of Finance Minister, Mr. A. Ramnarayan Reddy, meetings of the heads of various departments is in progress. Department of Finance has instructed all the departments to send in the budget estimates pertaining to their departments before the end of January. They have also been given instructions to propose new taxes.

In view of this Department of Municipal Administration has initiated action for enhancing municipal taxes. In addition to this, new steps are being taken for increasing taxes on essential commodities.

State Govt. had allocated Rs. 2302 crore this year for housing development but it is considering a substantial increase next year. Govt. has already increased power tariff. It is now considering to impose some more taxes before the budget session so that it can claim “No Tax Budget” next year.

It is also understood that Govt. is considering to enhance budget allocation for Minorities substantially next year.
