Hyderabad February 26: State government has asserted that it is committed to provide amount for fee reimbursement and scholarships for more than 28 lakh students including students of scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward classes and minorities.
Inspite of the fact that the government faced so many financial crisis and hardships the welfare schemes initiated by YS Rajshekhar Reddy after coming to power in 2004 including fee reimbursement and scholarship schemes have been implemented without a hitch however because of heavy damages due to severe drought, flood and consequent weak financial position of the state, issue of amount for fee reimbursement and scholarship was delayed. But as the government is giving preference to education sector the amount with all previous arrears has been paid and a total of 1000 crore rupees have been issued for current year’s fee and the remaining amount will be paid till the end of July as per the directive of supreme court.
So there is no need to doubt regarding issue of amount for fee reimbursement and scholarships. Speaking to media persons at the Secretariat on Friday, Social Welfare Minister Pitani Sayanarayana, Minorities’ Welfare Minister Syed Ahmedullah BC Welfare Basavaraju Sariah and Tribal Welfare Pasupuleti Blaraj clarified that the government was committed to implementing the pet programmes of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
