Hyderabad, February 10: The Govt. General and Chest Hospital Erragadda was established to provide better medicinal facilities to the poor public, suffering from chest diseases. But it has no place for poor public. It must be noted that Nawab Fakhrul Mulk had established this hospital in 1933 in ‘Eram Numa locality’ just for the sake of poor.
Today the area which is called Erragadda was actually called ‘Eram Numa area’. Since it is on a hillock of red soil, non Muslims started calling it Erragadda in Telugu language.
A poor Muslim woman arrived at the hospital from Adilabad to get treatment for chest pain but since she is not being admitted in the hospital she is spending the day and night on the road near the hospital building. She is waiting for being admitted to the hospital. Doctors told that it would take 3 days time for checkups after which she would be admitted in the hospital.
33 year old Chand Begum along with her husband and aunt is spending days on the road as there is no place for poor in the hospital established for poor.
