Govt. can do anything for ‘Damaad Land Factory’: BJP

Terming the real estate giant DLF Limited as ‘Damaad Land Factory’, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday criticized the Congress-led UPA Government for approving the construction of a residential complex near the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

“It is serious issue as it places the Rashtrapati Bhavan at risk. It is a crime to endanger the security of President. It is a clear case of corruption. The government has to come clean on this issue,” said BJP spokesmen Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

In an apparent reference to Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra, Naqvi said, “It is by god’s grace that they haven’t sold the Rashtrapati Bhavan. As far DLF is concerned, these days it is being called as ‘Damaad Land Factory’. Therefore the government is capable of doing anything for the DLF.”

The Government has found itself in another controversy as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has started probing a proposed Rs.10, 000 crore residential complex, barely a kilometer away from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, to be built by the DLF Limited.

The case was referred to the CBI by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), which is conducting an inquiry against certain officials of the Urban Development Ministry for favouring the DLF and giving it the permission for construction. (ANI)
