Hyderabad, October 23: The State Government has decided to urge the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe into the conspiracy behind the helicopter crash in which former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy died on September 2. A letter would be written to the agency to look in the angle of assassination of the former chief minister.
This aspsect was discussed threabare at a meeting on law and order situation convened by Chief Minister K Rosaiah, here today.
The Government had already entrusted to the CBI the case relating to the crash. But as the possibility of assassination was also being pointed out by several quarters, the Government wanted to have this angle also probed.
Briefing the media on the decisions taken at the meeting Home Minister Sabita Reddy said that the Chief Minister had directed the police department to restructure the Octopus wing. He wanted proposals in this regard from Director General of Police, the minister informed.
She said that activities of Naxalites in the border states have also come up for discussion in the meeting. The Chief Minister asked the Home department to be prepared on possible infiltrations and spurt in Maoist violence, she said.
