Siddapur,November 28:The convenor of the Hindu Jagran Vedike of North Karnataka, Govind Naik was caught red handed with a woman in a hotel room when the public broke in at the hotel in Siddapur. He was already in the news since a few days for protesting against the celebration of Eid ul Azha and for allegedly organizing attacks against the Muslims of the Bhatkal town.
According to reliable sources, he was regularly seen with different women in this hotel. Today, when the local public received the information of him being in the hotel, they broke in to nab him. When the public tried to get over him, he escaped through the window. However, in a hurry to get away from the scene, he left two of his mobile phones along with certain other things in the room.
According to various sources, Govind Naik had summoned a meeting on Friday at Sirsi. The issue that was discussed in the meeting was with regard to the discrete measures through which they could protest against the sacrifices that usually take place as a ritual during the occasion of Eid ul Azha. The details of the discussed issues are yet under cover.
It is said that subsequent to the meeting, Govind Naik called his already married neighbour, Lalitha Eerappa Naik to Poornima hotel at Siddapur. As he was protesting against the rituals of the Muslim community, he was quite unaware that he would ever get himself trapped in such a situation, that too with a woman.
It is said that police arrived at the spot to control the maddening crowd outside the hotel. The police arrested the woman and during interrogation she admitted that she was with Govind Naik in the hotel room. This statement was proved when the police found two mobile phones which belonged to Govind Naik in the room. She also asserted that four members of Hindu Jagran Vedike along with Govind Naik supplied girls from Bhatkal to Sirsi, Siddapur, Hubli and nearby areas.
However, the police have not agreed to these allegations, instead they only affirmed that Govind Naik was caught with a woman in Poornima hotel, while fulfilling his irrelevant desires. The police have also confirmed that Govind Naik is presently absconding and they have already began a search for him.
An FIR was lodged against Lalitha and she was later produced in the court. The court has ordered the police to hold the woman in judicial custody. The interrogation with the woman has revealed that she is a resident of Hanuman nagar and she was also caught red handed with another man in Shirali. It is reported that Govind Naik had saved this woman from this particular incident and after this; she departed with her husband and relocated to Sirsi.
The district authorities sense that Govind Naik and his four colleagues have engaged themselves in some anti social activities. However, at present the police have zipped their mouths until the investigations are on. The police claim that the seized mobile phones can unravel the mystery, so they will not be able to quote anything with this regard.
