The Governor ESL Narasimhan, who is in Delhi on a two-day visit, today held discussions with the Chief Secretary on phone about the crop loss due to the heavy rains in the State during the past two days and enquired about the relief measures taken up for the farming community. He also directed the Chief Secretary to submit an assessment report on the loss of various crops, the Press Secretary to the Governor said in a release here.
The Governor asked the Chief Secretary to review the situation with the Agriculture department and the District Collectors of the affected districts and direct them to take up immediate possible relief measures to help the farmers. (NSS).
