Governor, Rosaiah greet people on Deepavali

Hyderabad, October 17: Governor N. D.Tiwari and Chief Minister K. Rosaiah have extended their warmest Deepavali greetings to the people in the State and Telugu people outside the State and the country.

The Governor in his message said that Deepavali signified the defeat of the evil force and ignorance and the triumph of virtue and reason. Light also symbolised hope and progress and wished that the festival would usher in peace, harmony and prosperity for all. In view of the unprecedented floods, he called upon people to contribute in cash or kind to help flood victims.

The Chief Minister in his message hoped that the festival of lights would brighten every one’s life and the day celebrated as the end of demon Narakasura would inspire people to fight the evil and forge ahead with integrity. Mr. Rosaiah however said the recent floods to four districts in the State dampened the festival spirit. Thanking all those contributing generously to provide succour to the flood-hit, the Chief Minister appealed to people not to bring any bouquets and gifts to him but contribute the amount to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Telugu Desam Party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu has greeted Telugus in the State and outside on the occasion of Deepavali. He appealed to people to donate liberally for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims.
