Governor ESL Narasimhan today held a high level review meeting with Chief Secretary PK Mohanty and all heads of departments at Raj Bhavan. The Governor reviewed the distribution of officials and employees among two states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to be effective from June 2. Narasimhan directed them to be transparent and follow the central government guidelines on permanent allocation of the officials and related issues.
The meeting assumes importance in the wake of Telangana getting Statehood and begin functioning when TRS Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao takes oath as Chief Minister on Appointed Day. Similarly, Andhra Pradesh Government is expected to begin functioning from June 8 when TD Chief N Chandrababu Naidu will take oath as Chief Minister.
TEMPORARY BASIS
The Governor has taken stock of allocations made among two states. Narasimhan is said to have expressed satisfaction on bifurcation process despite the employees in Secretariat sticking to their guns on distribution of officials and staff based on nativity and options. On this issue, Mohanty said that the allocation of employees is done on temporary basis as they are awaiting Centre’s guidelines. The two governments will take care of the issue from June 2, he added.(NSS)
