Hyderabad: The BJP Floor leader Dr K Laxman, giving his reaction to the Governor’s Address to the joint sitting of Telangana State Legislature, alleged that the Governor read the election manifesto of TRS party. The Governor repeated first and second year’s addresses again. There was no mention of tribal 12 percent reservation, three acre land for SCs and STs, BC Sub-Plan, drought conditions and as to how the government will pool the money for the Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha schemes. The Governor’s speech also failed to mention about the pending bills of Indiramma Houses scheme. Alleging that there was no protection to the women, Laxman said that it was nothing but speaking lies to say that the law and order situation was good in the state.
Opposition leader in the Legislative Council, Mohammad Shabbir Ali termed the Governor’s speech as hopeless and filled with full of falsehoods. He alleged that the government made the Governor to join the ‘bhajanaparula’ sangam of TRS party.
No Mention of Farmer Suicides
CPI Floor leader Ravindra Kumar alleged that there was no mention of suicides of farmers in the Governor’s address. The Governor’s speech, which praised double bed room houses scheme, failed to mention real condition of the irrigation projects in the state. The government was constructing sample double bed room houses in the villages located on high ways, he alleged adding the Governor’s speech was fooling the members.
CPM lone member Sunnam Rajaiah alleged that the Governor’s speech was not in favor of development. The Governor’s speech was a hallow one .
The YSRCP lone MLA Payam Venkateshwarlu has alleged that there was nothing new in the Governor’s speech. It was worthless and seemed a very ordinary one. There was no mention of contract employees’ regularization in the speech.
The TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar said that the Governor’s address reflected what the government has done and was doing. He said that the people of the state were happy with the redesigning of the projects and it was reflected in the recent election results. He said that the Governor’s speech was full of clarity on the government’s programs. (NSS)
