Governor of AP Mr. ESL Narasimhan went to New Delhi last evening. He will meet PM Dr. Manmohan Singh today. CM and APCC President will reach Delhi on 28th June and meet Union Health Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, incharge of AP Affairs on 29th June.
Activities have begun for changes in the cabinet, formation of Pradesh committee of Congress and filling up the vacant posts of various corporations. Congress High Command has become anxious after the poor performance of the Congress candidates in the recently held by elections for one Lok Sabha seat and 18 Assembly seats. Preparation for the general elections to be held in the state in 2014 have already started. Steps have also been taken for the reconstitution of State Congress Committee and also for the appointments of Directors of corporations. Amidst these activities, the tour of the Governor has assumed very much importance. The Governor will meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram and Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Anthony.
Reliable sources indicated that the Governor would present the latest report on the political situation of AP Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, CM of AP had already met Congress President Ms. Sonia Gandhi earlier.
The CM and the Congress President are proceeding again to New Delhi. It is expected that consultations would be held to affect changes in the cabinet and also to strengthen the party.
There is a rumour that Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy will be replaced by Union Petroleum Minister Mr. S. Jaipal Reddy or senior Congress leader Mr. M. Shashidhara Reddy. State Congress sources contradicted the change of Chief Minister of AP.
