Governor ESL Narasimhan has prayed for past face and equal development of both Telugu States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a function held in Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan on the occasion of Deepawali on Wednesday, the Governor extended warm greetings to the people of both Telugu speaking States. He hoped that the festival of lights would bring joy and happiness in the lives of all citizens of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The Governor said he felt happy when Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. He said he wants both the States to grow together by ensuring better coordination and cooperation.
Narasimhan said that the contentious issues between the two States would be resolved soon.
He said that there would be no comprise on the quality of education in State universities and the vacant posts of Vice-Chancellors would be filled soon.
AP Council Chairman Dr. A. Chakrapani, Telangana Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma, DGP Anurag Sharma, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy, Cyberabad Commission C.V. Anand, representatives of different political parties and senior officials were also present. (INN)
