The TDP has alleged that the governor ESL Narasimhan was not giving appointment for the party leaders to meet him on pressing people’s problems.
Talking to the media here, party leaders Ashok Gajapati Raju, Motkupalli Narasimhulu and Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu have said that though the Governor had made several promises during his speech in the opening session of the Assembly, none of them was implemented. Ashok Gajapati Raju has said that the Assembly had met for less number of days during last year and the Chief Minister who had assured that the lost days would be made good this year, had not bothered to convene the house after the budget session. He said it was unfortunate that the Governor was not giving appointment even for MLAs. He said farmers and workers were thrown out of employment because of the power crisis and children were dying in many government hospitals for want of primary health care.
He also said that students were in a state of confusion as the government was undecided on the fees reimbursement. He has charged the government with failing in fulfilling its minimum duties in a civilized society. He said farmers were facing serious problems from nature on one side and the callousness of the government on the other. Expressing pain that the governor had not given appointment to them, he said such a government could not be called a responsible democracy. He has demanded that the Assembly be immediately convened to discuss people’s problems.
MOTKUPALLI DEMANDS CLEAR STATEMENT ON POWER
Alleging that the government was not in a position to even state for how many hours it would be able to provide power to farmers and industrialists, Narasimhulu has demanded a clear statement from the government on power supply. He said the Chief Minister was not acting in a humane manner as he was not responding to the problems of farmers, industrialists and even when children were dying due to power problem. He has also alleged that the government had deprived the BCs of their due in the fees reimbursement. Stating that it was unfortunate that the government had capped the fee at Rs. 35,000, Narasimhulu has said that several BC students were committing suicide as they were unable to pay their fee. He has demanded that the government should bear the entire fee.
DEMANDS DISMISSAL OF TAINTED MINISTERS
Motkupalli has demanded the acceptance of the resignation of minister Dharmana Prasada Rao and dismissal of other tainted ministers by the Governor. Alleging that Dharmana’s resignation was fake, he has also charged the Chief Minister of trying to shield tainted minister. He said thieves were looting the state and sharing the spoils.
CHIEF MINISTER INSULTED MLAS SAYS GALI
Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu has said that the Chief Minister has chosen to insult the TDP MLAs when they went to the secretariat to represent the power problem to him. Stating that he fell out of a jeep speeding at 80 kmph when they were bundled into police vehicles during their dharna at the Secretariat, he said God had fortunately saved him. He said though every one came to see him, the Chief Minister had not even made a phone call to him.
Gali has questioned why the CBI had not arrested Dharmana who was A 5, though it had arrested A 4 and A 6 in the Vanpic case. He has questioned if the Chief Minister would leave the ministers who blackmail him. He has also questioned if the statement of AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad an indication to other ministers to swallow as much as possible and give him his share. He has alleged that Congress leaders were going to Delhi to safeguard their own positions and not on people’s problems. He said the Governor should immediately give them appointment and do his duty. Referring to reports that the Governor was injured, he said his party was praying for his speedy recovery. Gali said his party would stage dharnas on September 1 at Warangal, on 4th at Tirupati and on 6th at Visakhapatnam on the power problem. (NSS)
