Governor leaves for Delhi to meet PM, HM

Governor ESL Narasimhan left for New Delhi on Wednesday to brief the Centre on various issues concerning Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States.

The Governor is likely to meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday evening while he would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. He is likely to brief them about the State Government’s reported proposal to divide Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) into three parts before conducting next municipal polls, the tussle between AP and Telangana over inter exams, AP’s new capital city and other related issues.

It may be mentioned that Narasimhan is the Governor for both the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and as per the AP Reorganisation Act, he enjoys special powers for law and order in the GHMC limits, which is the joint capital area. (INN)
