Hyderabad, October 03: Governor Narayan Datt Tiwari and Chief Minister K Rosaiah today paid rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Ghat near Langar Houz to mark his 140th birth anniversary.
They recalled the services rendered by the Mahatma for the country.
Ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao, P Sabita Reddy, D Manikya Vara Prasad were among those who offered floral tributes to the Mahatma at Bapu Ghat.
Rosaiah along with Council Chairman A Chakrapani, Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Bhavan this morning. They also offered floral tributes to former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri to mark his birth anniversary.
Government advisor KVP Ramachandra Rao, minister Vatti Vasanth Kumar, MPs Sarve Satyanarayana, Anjan Kumar Yadav, MLAs M Shashidhar Reddy, P Vishnuvardhan Reddy, MLC K Janardhan Reddy, PCC officebearers Indrasain Reddy, Tripurana Venkataratnam, G Niranjan were among those who offered floral tributes to the late leaders.
The Chief Minister, PCC president and others also paid floral tributes to former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy at Gandhi Bhavan on completion of one month of his death. They later left to CM’s camp office at Begumpet to offer tributes to the late leader. Meanwhile, Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi paid tributes by garlanding statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri to mark the occasion.
