Governor, CM, others greet people

Hyderabad, January 15: The Governor, Mr E S L Narsimhan, and the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, have greeted the people of the State on the occasion of “Makara Sankranti” festival.

Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy has extended his greetings to Telugu people in the State and abroad on the occasion of “Makara Sankranti”. In his message, the Chief Minster stated that the festival heralds the beginning of the harvesting season and the farmers celebrate home delivery of the new crop traditionally which is significant in their lives. Stating that unfortunately the recent unseasonal rains that lashed the coastal districts and elsewhere in the State, marred the celebrations, he stated, however, a special package announced by the government will give them some relief. The Chief Minister exuded confidence that the farmers will prosper with renewed efforts.

The TDP president, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, has said that the Sankranthi festival reflects the life style of farmers and wished that the festival would fill light into their lives. He exuded confidence that the State will have prosperity by overcoming all hurdles.

The State BJP president, Mr G Kishen Reddy, on behalf of the party, has conveyed hearty greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of “Makara Sankranthi”.

Mr Kishen Reddy, in his message on Friday, wished the people of peace, harmony and prosperity. He also exuded confidence that all kinds of problems being faced by the people will be solved at the earliest and appealed to the Telugu people of all sections march forward with mutual cooperation and camaraderie.

The PRP founder-president, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, also greeted the people of the State on the occasion.
