Governor ESL Narasimhan today left for Delhi. The Governor’s Delhi sojourn assumes significance in the wake of using Article 356 in the state and prevailing situation thereof. He is likely to call on President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Defence Minister AK Antony and apprise them of prevailing situation in the state which is under President Rule.
The Governor is expected to submit them a report on the state situation and discuss the issues related to the state politics. According to information he will stay put in the National Capital till Friday. It is being said that the Governor will take inputs from the Delhi bosses with regard to implementation of the President Rule. It is said that the President is to guide him on the governance using Article 356 and simultaneous development of the state. Since Municipal elections are set to be held on Mar 30 and General Elections notification is expected in about week days.
The people are awaiting the Center’s decision on announcement of Appointed Day likely by June 1 as Gazette notification pertaining to bifurcation was made to public. The Governor is understood to be holding discussions with Delhi bosses on all these issues, sources said. (NSS)
