Governor E S L Narasimhan on Thursday issued orders appointing Vice-Chancellors for four more universities in the State.
According to a Raj Bhavan release, the Governor appointed K Ratnaiah, a retired Professor of Sri Venkateswara University as the Vice-Chancellor of Dravidian University of Kuppam in Chitoor district. Dr G Bhagyanarayana, Professor of Botany, University College of Science, Osmania University, has been appointed as VC of Palamuru University of Mahbubnagar district.
Likewise, Prof E Siva Reddy, retired Professor of Telugu, Osmania University, has been appointed as the VC of Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University and Prof P George Victor, Professor of Philosophy, Andhra University, has been appointed as Adikavi Nannya University, Rajahmundry.
It may be mentioned that the Government has appointed VCs for three universities on Wednesday. So far, the Governor has appointed seven VCs out 10 Universities, for which the VC posts were lying vacant for the last several months. (INN)
