Governor of Telangana and A.P. inaugurated English Language Teachers’ Education Conference at Hyderabad International Convention Center yesterday. This conference is being organized for three days by British Council in collaboration with English and Foreign Languages University with an objective of ensuring quality in English Language teaching. He stressed the need for the students to improve their proficiency in English language for getting better jobs and also getting admissions in foreign universities. He said that by learning foreign languages in addition to mother tongue, the students gain more knowledge. He advised the government to concentrate on providing English language teaching in Govt. schools. He mentioned that Govt. of Telangana is taking steps in this regard. Present on this occasion were Mr. Andrew McAllister, British Dy. High Commissioner for India and Prof. Sunaina Singh, Vice Chancellor of English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad.
