Government Quota in Minority Medical Colleges in Bihar squashed by Court

High Court of Patna scrapped 50% Government quota in Minority Medical Colleges in Bihar State. The judgment was pronounced by Chief Justice, Rekha Doshit and Mr. Justice Ehsanuddin Amanullah. They dismissed the appeal submitted by the Government of Bihar and upheld the ruling of single bench judge of Patna High Court pronounced on 4th September 2012.

The High Court ruling pertains to Kathihar Medical College and Mata Gujari Medical College and Hospital, Kishan Gunj. The petitioners had contended that they do not receive grant from the Government and hence Government cannot force private Minority Medical Colleges to have 50% Government Quota.
