Government has zero tolerance towards corruption: Himachal CM

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government has adopted “zero tolerance” policy towards corruption and asked the State Accounts Services (SAS) officers to ensure that “every penny” of the public money was utilised for the right purpose.

“My government has adopted zero-tolerance towards corruption and it is for the accounts services officers to ensure that each and every penny of the public money is utilised for the purpose it is meant for,” he said while inaugurating the second inter-state conference of SAS officers Association on the theme ‘Role and Challenges for SAS Officers’.

To ensure better fiscal management and to achieve systematic and planned development there is a need for check and balance in the system besides utilising the funds earmarked for particular works and schemes, the chief minister said.

“SAS officers should ensure that the programmes and schemes targeted for welfare of the people are implemented,” he said.

Singh said that,”It has been brought to my knowledge that more than 50 entry grade posts of SAS cadre officers are lying vacant due to non-availability of eligible candidates and I assure that the matter would be looked into.
