SC Corporation Managing Director B Jayaraj, today, said Rs.425 crore has been set as the target for disbursement of loans for Scheduled castes beneficiaries in the state, for the year 2012-13.
Talking to reporters in Krishna district head quarters Machilipatnam, he said 66,000 eligible beneficiaries were identified to extend loans worth Rs.425 crore. Out of the Rs.425 crore, Rs.265 crore would be disbursed by banks, he said. Mr Jayaraj said compared to last year, the loan amount was doubled. He would visit various districts to conduct a random inspection of the implementation of the schemes. As the cost of land increased considerably, the land purchasing scheme for the SCs was not being implemented effectively. The government was considering enhancement of allocation of Rs.1 lakh to BCs for purchasing land to Rs.3 lakhs. He appealed to people belonged to SC to avail the government’s schemes, being implemented especially for them. UNI
