Government gives green signal to two degree colleges in old city

Hyderabad: The state government gave its approval for setting up of two new government degree colleges from the next academic year, 2017-18. It must be recalled that about a month ago chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had announced that the TRS government would sanction a couple of colleges at the graduation level for Old City.

Higher education special chief secretary Ranjeev R Acharya last week issued orders for the setting up of the two degree colleges. It has been decided that the colleges will be set up at the existing campuses of Government Junior Colleges at Falaknuma and Chanchalguda respectively.

Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned for the above proposal.
