New Delhi : The Union Government on Monday cleared National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF)-related assistance for seven drought-hit states.
The fund allocation was cleared at a high level committee meeting that was presided over by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
Andhra Pradesh received an amount of Rs. 280.19 crores, while Rs. 332.57 crores was allocated for Assam. Rupees Rs.170.19 crores was allocated for Himachal Pradesh, while Rs. 16.02 crores was granted to Nagaland.
The meeting also approved an amount of Rs. 336.94 crores for Jharkhand, Rs. 1177.59 crores for Rajasthan and Rs.1773.78 crores for Tamil Nadu.
The Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs and Information and Broadcasting Arun Jaitley, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and senior officers of the Ministries of Home, Finance and Agriculture attended the meeting.
The committee examined the proposals based on the report of the central team which visited the affected states by severe drought. (ANI)
