Hyderabad, January 04: Cities Civil Organisations Federation (CCOF) demanded the state government to complete construction works of all pending houses which were sanctioned to eligible candidates under the Indiramma Housing Scheme.
The CCOF state president T Sagar stated in a press release that they have submitted a representation to the Minister for Housing Kanna Lakshminarayana asking him to ensure the completion of the works soon.
“Even as the state government sanctioned as many as 1,51,224 houses in the cities, only 35, 894 houses are under construction while the construction of 30, 831 houses is yet to be begun. In the second phase, as many as 1,43,490 houses were allocated of which while 45,488 houses are under construction and construction of 22,213 houses has not started yet,” he added.
Sagar said despite the fact that the state government had identified at least 3,18,000 beneficiaries in Hyderabad, 1,47,000 in Vijayawada and 1,40,000 in Visakhapatnam under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), the construction of houses had not even begun.
