Goutami passengers looted

Warangal, September 27: The passengers of Secunderabad- Kakinada Goutami Superfast Express were looted in the small hours of Saturday.

Some unidentified men stalled the train by pulling the chain soon after the train crossed Dornakal railway station and was near Bandlagudem on the borders of Khammam district at 1:30 a.m.

Soon 15 robbers who were waylaying at the place put their hands through the windows and pulled the gold chains from three women — Deepti, Aruna and Ramya — who were on their way to Rajahmundry. The women raised the alarm by screaming but even before the escort police could reach them the culprits vanished into darkness.

The trio lodged a complaint in Rajahmundry railway station that the burglars decamped with eight tolas of gold ornaments.

The train was delayed for nearly half-an-hour due to the incident.
