A report published in Deccan Chronicle an English daily stated that the BJP candidate and former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya is giving a tough fight to Congress candidate from Secunderabad and two-time MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, thanks to MIM who has fielded its candidate from Secunderabad parliamentary constituency.
Gossip is rife over MIM entry in the fray. In this connection V Hanumanth Rao group has to say that it is a planned conspiracy and by making a secret deal the regional party has given ticket to a Dalit youth from Amberpet. The two candidates belonging to backward classes in fray chances of G Kishan Reddy belonging to Reddy class to win the elections are high.
According to a Muslim Congress leader, the Secunderabad parliamentary segment has 4 lakh Muslim voters while there are 34 candidates in fray. If Muslim voters cast their vote wisely they can keep communal BJP at bay. In 2004 general elections, Congress candidate Mr. Anjan Kumar Yadav had defeated the BJP candidate with a margin of 68,758 votes, in 2009, he had again defeated Mr. Dattatreya with a margin of 1,70,167 votes.
Many Congress leaders are of the opinion that the presence of MIM candidate has made BJP’s position powerful. A corporator of Secunderabad told that if Muslim voters vote for Congress in this election too then Dattatreya defeat is sure.
