GOs issued for Makkah Masjid renovation, Islamic Center and Orphanage

Hyderabad: In order to implement the promises made by Mr. KCR in the Assembly, the Dept. of Minorities Welfare 4 separate GOs for the release of grants for the establishment of Islamic Cultural and Convention Center, Renovation of Makkah Masjid, construction of Orphanage, Anees-ul-Ghuraba and enhancement of honoraria to Imams and Muazzins.

Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare apprised the CM about the details of budget. The CM advised him to release Rs. 10 crore immediately for the construction of Islamic Cultural and Convention Center on a 6 acre Wakf land pertaining to Dargah Hazrat Husain Shah Wali at Manikonda. The purpose of establishment of Islamic Center is to negate propaganda against Islam and to promote communal harmony between various religious denominations. Chief Engineer of R&B has been requested to prepare a detailed estimate for submitting it to the Govt. CEO of Wakf Board has been directed to release Rs. 10 crore to Chief Engineer.

Another GO has been issued for the construction of multi-storey building on 4000 sq. yards plot allotted by the Govt. for Anees-ul-Ghuraba orphanage at Nampally. This building will be used for accommodating orphan students besides carrying out commercial activities. For the renovation of Makkah Masjid, Rs. 8.48 crore have been issued. A detailed estimate has been prepared by the Director of Archeology which has been approved by the Govt.

Govt. has also issued GO for payment of honorarium to be paid to Imams and Muazzins of Masajid which has now been increased from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1500. CEO of Wakf Board has been instructed to implement it with effect from April 2017.
