Lucknow: The UP Police have filed a charge sheet against seven persons on Friday following an inquiry ordered by the Government into the incident that killed around 30 children at the Baba Raghav Daz Medical College and Hospital in Gorakhpur on 10 and 11 August.
The incident that took place in Gorakhpur due to the shortage of liquid oxygen claimed 30 lives.
Dr Purnima Mishra wife of ex-principal of hospital Rajiv Mishra’s who was working as a Senior homeopathic medical officer in Gorakhpur, Dr Satish Head of Anaesthesia Department, Chief pharmacist Gajanand Jaiswal Chief, Clerks — Sudhir Pandey, Sanjay Tripathi and Uday Pratap ( all seven persons have been suspended) including Manish Bhandari, proprietor of M/s Pushpa Sales, who stooped supplying liquid oxygen to the hospital due to payment dues. All the seven members have been included in the charge sheet by the Police.
Investigating officer Abhishek Kumar Singh said the charge sheet has been filed in Gorakhpur’s local court under sections 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 120-B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and under various provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.
