Google’s new Chrome Extension checks your passwords have been hacked, here’s how to install

Google released a new Chrome Extension called Password Checkup which will automatically check whether your passwords have been exposed in a data breach.

The extension which is called ‘Password Checkup’ which alerts users when they enter a username and password on a website, the extension will alert them that the login information has been compromised and suggests a password to change.

Google in the blog post stated that “We built Password Checkup so that no one, including Google, can learn your account details. To do this, we developed privacy-protecting techniques with the help of cryptography researchers at both Google and Stanford University.”

To install this extension, open Chrome on your computer and click the link below,

Once you open the link, click on “Add to Chrome” and confirm that you want to add the extension to your Chrome. Once installed, a screen shield icon will appear on the top right of your browser and its done.
