Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL announced with dual selfie cameras, bigger displays

California: Google’s anticipated third-generation Pixel smartphones have been finally announced. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL boast improvements over the predecessors with the camera and display as the highlights.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL both sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC under-the-hood with 4GB of RAM, Bluetooth 5.0 and up to 128GB internal storage. In terms of display, the Pixel 3 features a 5.5-inch display, while the Pixel 3 XL sports a 6.3-inch display with the notch on the front.

Cameras are the second talking points of the new Pixel phones. Unlike competition which is crunching dual cameras at the back, Google brings them up front. Both the models are equipped with a single 12.2-megapixel camera at the back, and a combination of 8-megapixel+8-megapixel front cameras with wide and ultrawide angle for better selfies.

The smartphones will be available starting October 18, 2018 at a starting price tag of USD 799 for Pixel 3 with 64GB internal storage and USD 899 for the Pixel 3 XL base model.
