New Delhi: Google Doodle which pays tribute to great personalities regularly, on 1st November is celebrating the birthday of Abdul Qavi Desnavi.
The doodle showed Desnavi sitting in the middle and writing. The letters of the search engine were also given a calligraphic touch.
He is a noted Indian Urdu language poet, bibliographer and linguist. He had written many books.
His important contributions are about Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Mirza Ghalib and Sir Muhammad Iqbal.
It may be mentioned that he was born in Desna Village of Bihar on 1st November 1930. His father, Syed Mohammed Saeed Raza was a professor of Urdu, Arabic and Persian languages at St Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
In 1961, Abdul Qavi Desnavi after completing his college education from St. Xavier’s joined the Department of Urdu at Saifia Post Graduate College, Bhopal.
Abdul Qavi breathed his last on 7th July 2011 in Bhopal where he was living.
