IT Minister KT Rama Rao today said Metro Rail service was getting huge public response. On completing works of the two other corridors, the government will take up expansion of Metro Rail till Shamshabad Airport, KTR said.
Metro Rail was launched on November 28 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and launched it for general public on November 29 has been getting a very good response. Denizens of Hyderabad are showing interest to travel in the Metro Rail, he said and posted a video of GHMC women workers travelled in the Metro Rail. From the day one, Metro Rail was setting records with tremendous response and will rewrite the history of other metro rails in the country, the minister said.
KTR also said the metro rail gives a very comfortable and safe journey besides getting rid of pollution. The works related to other Metro corridors are going on in a swift move and will be completed on time. In the second phase, the Metro Rail will be expanded to 80 km stretch and plans are getting ready. “We will also take up expansion to Shamshabad Airport for better connectivity”, he said.
