New Delhi: A two-day workshop on best practices in citizen centric governance will be inaugurated in New Delhi on Thursday by Union Minister Jitendra Singh.
The workshop will showcase the individual, team and organisational efforts of the ‘Team India’ through presentations from different states of the country on innovative good governance initiatives that have been conferred the Prime Minister’s award for excellence in public administration and national awards on e-governance. These include initiatives in citizen centric administration, women empowerment, efficient resource utilisation, capacity building as well as use of e-governance tools in citizen centric service delivery, a release issued by the Personnel Ministry said.
Theme-based discussion will be held to cover a wide range of public service delivery systems in the goal to empower the last mile and the common man, it said. Singh, Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office, will inaugurate the two-day national workshop beginning Thursday on best practices in citizen centric governance with the objective of realising the vision of the Prime Minister of good governance through ‘minimum government maximum governance.
More than 300 delegates including senior officials of the central and state governments besides, representatives from various institutions are participating in the event from all over the country, it said.
