Gone targets Ramoji Rao, alleges media baron of land grab attempt

Hyderabad, August 25: Former MLA and APSRTC former chairman Gone Prakash Rao on Tuesday alleged Ramoji Film City chairman Ramoji Rao has erected gates on a public road with a view to encroach some land between Anajpur and Naganpally villages and urged Chief Minister K Rosaiah to initiate action against him.

Handing media persons copies of the memorandum he had submitted to Mr Rosaiah on the issue, Mr Gone Prakash Rao alleged that the gates erected on the public road at Anajpur village and another at Naganpally village are forcing people to take a detour, increasing their travelling distance by about 12 km.

Another allegation made by Mr Prakash Rao relates to 14.30 guntas of land in Survey Nos 189 and 203 of Naganpally village which was part of the Ramoji Film City estates. Mr Gone Prakash revealed that the government had acquired land from the Film City and distributed house site patta certificates to 606 families from the weaker sections. He said that these beneficiaries were not allowed inside the Ramoji Film City.

Mr Prakash Rao was visibly angry at the Chief Minister’s Office staff for failing to fix an appointment for him with Mr Rosaiah. He charged that the Chief Ministers’ Office has become a power centre for middlemen. The CMO officials have failed to fix an appointment with Mr Rosaiah for submitting a memorandum on the issue, he pointed out.

The Congress leader alleged that the officials are not following the directions of Chief Minister. He requested Mr Rosaiah to become stricter and control his peshi.
