New Delhi: B.Techs from country’s premier technical institutes can apply for the Prime Minister Research Fellowship (PMRF) scheme. Application for the research scholarship, which will grant the winners a one time grant of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 70,000-80,000 every month, can be filed till 5 p.m. March 31 at the PMRF website, said the Human Resource Development Ministry statement.
The scheme has been launched this year and promises direct admission into Ph.D courses at Indian Institutes of Technogy and Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore. B.Tech graduates (in five years) or in the final year of B.Tech or Integrated M.Tech/Integrated M.Sc. in science technology streams from IISC, IITs, NITs, IISERs, and IIITs are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Another eligibility criterion is that the candidate should have secured CGPA of 8.0.
A shortlist of candidates will be published on April 30 and interviews will be conducted in May at various IITs and the IISC.
