Golden jubilee celebrations of Artillery Centre Hyderabad began this morning in a festive mood and traditional gaiety. The day started with a Special Sainik Sammelan opened by Brig. Prakash S Nair, Commandant Artillery Centre, Hyderabad and attended by many serving and retired senior Artillery officers, junior commissioned officers, jawans and civilian staff.
During the Special Sainik Sammelan, a ‘First Day Cover’ was released by Lt Gen (Retd) B S Pawar, Ex Commandant, Artillery Centre, Hyderabad in respect of the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad, to commemorate the occasion. A Hyderabad Bazar was also opened on this day for all ranks at the Sarvatra shopping complex with verities of special items from Andhra Pradesh.
The festivities will culminate on Thursday with tree plantation and cultural events.
Raised on August 15, Artillery Centre Hyderabad has now become a modern, progressive ‘Centre of Excellence’ offering state of art training facilities to produce and nurture physically tough, technically proficient and highly motivated young Gunners to the Indian Army.
