Golden era has just begun for farmers in Telangana State, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy today said. Srinivas Reddy participated in Rythu Bandh scheme at Veldanda in Nagar Kurnool district and distributed cheques and pass books to farmers. Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali, Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Telangana State Farmers Coordination Panel Chairman and MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy, MLA G Balraj, MLC Kasireddy Narayan Reddy and officials present.
On the occasion the agriculture minister addressing a public meeting stated that the credit of giving Rs 4000 per acre crop investment as a continuous process will go to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. In addition to financial support for crop investment the government has also taken a decision to provide Rs 5 lakh crop insurance to farmers. KCR has changed agriculture into to reap golden harvest though the fates of the farmers did not change for 70 years, he said. The Chief Minister has turned the pathetic conditions of farming into golden era though the farmers were deprived of all facilities for farming activity. The farmers are now leading lives in self respect with gesture of the chief minister, Srinivas Reddy said.
He further said that as many as 14 chief ministers have changed during combined state though the fates of the farmers did not change. However the farmers happy in the KCR Government which tide over power crisis to giving 24 hour power to farming activity and waived off crop loans and water cess. Ridiculing the congress for its focus on just votes, notes and seats he ridiculed, the TRS leaders are focusing on the farmers’ welfare. Giving crop investment support to the farming in KCR rule is great thing in Telangana state he added. (NSS)
