New York, March 21: Gold today climbed for the fourth day as investors sought a protection of wealth from air strikes in Libya and on concern unrest may spread in the region.
Gold rose USD 14.90, or 1.1 per cent, to USD 1,431 an ounce on the Comex. Silver also rose 3 per cent to USD 36.09 an ounce.
Allied officials said two days of missile and aircraft strikes have effectively grounded Muammar Gaddafi’s air force.
