New Delhi, September 12: Two youths were robbed of 1.5 kg gold bars worth around Rs 27 lakh in central Delhi early this morning by four unidentified men who came on a SUV when they were on their way to deliver it to a customer, police said.
The incident took place near Ajmal Khan Road in Karol Bagh at around 5:30 am when Rajesh Mandal (19) and Sunil Machi (32), both relatives of a jeweller Ravinder Mandal, were on way to Sangpura to deliver the gold to a customer.
The duo were travelling in an autorickshaw when four men came in a SUV and intercepted them. They were carrying iron rods, a senior police official said.
The four men hit the teenager, who was holding a bag containing about 1.5 kg of gold.
