Gold valuables and a semi-automatic pistol totally valued at Rs 1.83 lakh were allegedly robbed from a senior crime branch officer’s house while he and his family members were away, police sources said here today.
Assistant Police Commissioner (Crime Branch) Ravindra Khandagale left for duty in the morning yesterday from his
house in Kamala Park building at Mahim. Later, his wife and son also left the house at 10.30 am, police said.
His family members returned in the evening, only to find the door’s latch lock broken and the house ransacked.
Their household safe’s iron door was also found broken from which cash worth Rs 20,000, gold ornaments worth Rs
90,000, a watch worth Rs 6000, a camera worth Rs 7000, a Glock 9mm pistol worth Rs 60,000 were missing, an official at the Shivaji Park police station said.
The victims notified the police and a probe is on,” the officer added.
