Gohil demands inquiry into allegations of bureaucrat

Ahmedabad, March 01: Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil today demanded an inquiry by an independent agency into the allegations levelled against Chief Minister Narendra Modi by a state bureaucrat.

“There should be an independent inquiry into the allegations of the IAS officer…. The officer has written to the state chief secretary seeking an inquiry,” Gohil said during discussion on Governor’s address in the Assembly.

Gohil was referring to the allegations of arrested IAS officer Pradeep Sharma, accused of favouring Welspun company by giving away land at a very low rate when he was Kutch district collector.

Sharma had alleged that he was being targeted by the Chief Minister.

Gohil demanded that inquiry should be conducted by SIT or CBI.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Pradeepsinh Jadeja said that allegations were wayward and were made by an officer who was himself an accused.
