Godhra riot: HC allows SIT to interrogate Modi

Ahmedabad, July 24: Paving the way for Special Investigation Team (SIT) to interrogate Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the Gujarat High Court on Friday quashed the plea seeking stay on probing Modi’s role in 2002 riot case.

Now, Supreme Court constituted SIT can interrogate Modi’s role in the 2002 post-Godhra riot case.

Passing the order, the court allowed SIT to quiz Modi for his role in the Godhra riot case.

It has been a major jolt for firebrand BJP leader as his role would be under the scanner.

The petition was filed by a BJP leader seeking stay on probing Modi and 62 others in the Godhra case.
